Our Process
Intake
Once alerted about a pet in need of our help, we evaluate if the dog meets our criteria and mission:
Is the dog unowned or a shelter pet?
Does the dog have a medical condition?
Do we have the financial means available to address the known medical issues?
If the answer to the above questions is "yes", then we determine if we have a suitable foster available, or if one can be found.
The next step is to get the dog transported and into our care.
An initial vet visit is set-up.
Ongoing Care
At Save One Soul, we take pride in seeing our pets through from the time that we take them in until they area adopted. Their veterinary care includes addressing the medical issues, as well as routine services, such as vaccinations, spay/neuter, and flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
Adoption
Once the pets are released from vet care, they are made available for adoption. We inform the public by posting the pet on social media, as well as adoption sites, such as Petfinder.
We do not have a brick and mortar facility, and all pets are in private homes with their fosters.
The adoption process starts with an application. We place our pets in the homes of responsible pet owners. If applicable, we do contact your vet to inquire about the care of current and previous household pets. Some dogs do require a secure fence. Viable applicants are contacted for a meet-and-greet in their home, and we determine the best candidate for the dog.
The entire process takes several days, and we ask you to be patient during the application process.
