Pasha





Pasha was our very first dog. He joined us on October 16th, 2016, when he was only 4 months of age. He had been hit by a car and sustained a fracture of his left hind leg, which required surgical intervention. Pasha, now Woodrow, made a complete recovery, and was adopted after he was cleared by our vets..



Skittles





Skittles joined us on 10/22/2016. The shelter in New Albany, IN reached out to us for help, because Skittles was too scared to be in the shelter. We were able to pull her, work with her, and once she gained enough self-confidence, get her adopted.



Powell





Powell, our first dog in the year 2017, joined us on 01/09/2017. He came from Davies County and was heartworm positive. Barb, his foster, decided to adopt him, and he is now living the good life under the name of Lefit.



Oz





Oz joined us on February 13, 2017 from Hopkins County. In addition to not being able to use his right front leg, Oz was very scared. Oz did so well with his foster siblings that he eventually decided to become a full member of the family.



Morning





Morning joined us on 4/18/17 from Muhlenberg County. She had a very severe case of demodectic mange and some other skin issues. She made a full recovery and was adopted by her foster.



Mocha





Mocha joined us on 6/19/17. She was left abandoned in a crate in a church parking lot in Bullitt County. Mocha had skin and eye issues. Mocha was adopted by her foster.



Tiny





Tiny was surrendered to Preston Animal Hospital on 6/22/17. She required minimal care, and quickly adopted. She is now known as Mini, and is related by adoption to Pasha (Woodrow).



Piper





When Piper was only an 8 week old puppy, a customer of Preston Animal Hospital saw him being offered for "free" at a gas station. Knowing that this could be very bad news for the puppy, she scooped him up and took him to Preston Animal Hospital. We were happy to welcome him on 8/2/17. Piper needed only minimal care, and his foster adopted the young man, now living his best life as Cosmo.



Snickers





Snickers joined us on 8/11/21 from Muhlenberg County. She was about 4 months of age and suffered from demodectic mange. Shortly after arriving, she showed symptoms of parvo. Thankfully, her treatment was successful, and she didn't only survive, but thrive. Snickers was adopted, and she now lives her best life as Clementine.



Oliver and Bentley





Oliver and Bentley joined us on 11/21/17 from Muhlenberg County. They initially had sarcoptic mange and other skin conditions. We had the scabies treated at the shelter until it was no longer contagious before transferring them into our care. Oliver and Bently made a complete recovery and they were both adopted into separate homes



Holly





On December 22, 2017, we were alerted to a 4 month old puppy that was surrendered at Blue Pearl after ingesting rat poison. Thankfully, we just had a successful fundraiser, and we were able to afford her care. Being so close to Christmas, we decided to name her Holly. Holly made a full recovery, and was adopted by her foster..

Dodger joined us on January 4th, 2018. A witness observed Dodger being thrown out of a moving vehicle in Meade County. Dodger sustained multiple injuries, including fractures and road rash. He made a full recovery, and was adopted by his foster..

Sadie joined us on 1/14/18 after being surrendered by her owners: Sadie had been experiencing frequent and unexplained high fevers, and the owners were at the end of their rope. It turned out that Sadie continued to have the fevers. Again, and again. Over several months. She was tested for everything our vets could think. Test after test, nothing stood out. She made so many trips to the vets. Many times, she ended up in the emergency room. Yet, there were no answers. Then, one day, Sadie had a grand mal seizure, and she was rushed back to the emergency room. The seizures and fevers stopped as mysteriously as they started. Sadie was adopted, and she is living her best life.


Willie





Willie was attacked by other dogs. His caretaker, who had recently taken Willie on, reached out for help. We welcomed Willie on 5/2/18. Willie's wounds were severe, but he made a full recovery. He was adopted, and now goes by Bolt.



blitz





Blitz joined us on 7/17/18, after his owners surrendered him. He had minor skin problems, which were cleared up. His foster adopted him, and he now lives his best life, practicing agility and other dog sports.



hope





Hope joined us on 8/3/2018 from Meade County. At the young age of 8 weeks, she already suffered abuse and neglect. Her eye was injured so badly that it required removal. This injury later caused dental problems, and several of her teeth had to be pulled. Hope was dehydrated and overall feeling very poor. Once she started to feel better, it was obvious that she would be a force of nature! ​Hope was adopted and now lives a wonderful life.



journey





Journey joined us on 12/7/18. She was surrendered to Seneca Animal Hospital, who contacted us because of her severely emaciated condition. Xrays showed that Journey had an intestinal blockage. Thankfully, she made it through the difficult surgery. Journey was adopted by the parents of the young vet who performed her surgery. She now lives the life of luxury on a farm, and goes by the name of Fancy.



Ginger





Ginger joined us on 12/11/18 from Muhlenberg County. She had a severe case of demodectic mange and other skin problems. Ginger made a complete recovery, and lives her best life since being adopted.



max





Max was surrendered by his owner on 12/12/18. He had parasites and minor skin issues. Max recovered quickly, and was adopted. He now goes by the name Ace.



Boss





Boss came to us on 3/9/2019 from Daviess County. He was Heartworm Positive and had an eye condition. He recovered from the Heartworm status and his eye condition was brought under control. He has been adopted, and now lives a great life under the name of Maasai.



Skylar





Skylar joined on 3/9/19 from Daviess County. She was Heartworm Positive. She made a full recovery and was adopted.



Sabrina





LSabrina joined us on 3/13/2019 from Meade County. She had an injured eye and some smaller wounds. Further tests also showed that she had Ehrlichia. ​Sabrina made a complete recovery, and she now gets to live the good life in the confines of an Indiana State Park!



Spice





Spice Girl joined us on 4/9/21 from Hopkins County, where she was surrendered by her owners. She is the product of unaltered animals in the same household. She was very shy and Heartworm Positive. Spice Girl was successfully treated and then adopted, just to be returned 1.5 years later. She is currently looking for her furever home.



Abigail





Abigail joined us on 5/8/19 from Hopkins County. She was Heartworm positive and had some minor skin issues. Abigail was successfully treated and adopted. Sadly, Abigail suddenly and unexpectedly passed away.



RAINA





Raina joined us on 5/13/19 after her owners surrendered her to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital. Raina had been hit by a car, and sustained multiple injuries. Raina made a complete recovery and was adopted. She now lives her best life as Kona.



eLVIS





Elvis joined us on 7/25/19 from Shelby County. He had some skin issues, which were successfully treated. He was adopted and is a treasured member of his adoptive family.



dIXIE





Dixie was surrendered by her owner on 11/25/19. She had multiple issues, including dental, skin, and eye problems. Dixie's conditions were stabilized, and she was adopted and now lives her best life.



CASH





Cash was surrendered to us on 12/27/19. He had eye and orthopedic issues, requiring multiple surgeries. Cash made a full recovery, and has been adopted.



tATER tOT





Tater Tot was surrendered to us on 4/21/20. She had skin issues, which were successfully treated. After making a successful recovery, Tater Tot was adopted by her foster, and she is now known as Frizz.



ZURI





Zuri was surrendered to us on 4/23/20 after being newly diagnosed with Addison's disease. Her condition was treated and stabilized. She will need medication for the rest of her life. Zuri was adopted, and now lives her best life.



mAJOR pETEY





Major Petey joined us on 12/18/20 from Daviess County. He had a dislocated elbow, was heartworm positive, and had skin issues. Sadly, his elbow injury was too old to be surgically corrected. He recovered successfully from his other conditions, and is currently looking for his furever home.



wINSTON





Winston was surrendered to Preston Animal Hospital because his owner could not handle the energy of this dog. Seriously. We welcomed him on 12/24/20, and he fit so nicely into his foster family that his foster decided to adopt him.



FAITH





Faith came to us on 3/11/21 from Meade County. She had a severe laceration on her hind leg and was also heartworm positive. Her laceration was treated and healed very quickly, and she is currently still recovering from the heartworm condition.



kILO





Kilo came to us on 8/17/21 from a private individual. He had parvo, and needed urgent treatment to save his life. Kilo made a complete recovery and was adopted by his foster.



mARVIN





Marvin joined us on 11/1/21 from a private individual. This senior dog had a tough life. He had skin conditions, his eyesight was diminished, and his hearing was not the best. Within a short amount of time of his arrival, he started to have seizures. Along with his seizure, he showed a change of personality. Sadly, we had to do what we felt was the kindest thing and help him cross the rainbow bridge.



hONEY





Honey joined us on 12/15/21 from Shelby County. She had been hit by a car and had road rash and orthopedic injuries. She is currently being treated while staying in foster care.
