Report an Animal in Need

Our History:
Save One Soul was founded in July of 2016 by a group of friends who a share a love of dogs and a desire to help un-owned and shelter animals. Shelters and rescues do a very good job at adopting young and healthy dogs to the public, and there are organizations targeting cases of severe neglect and abuse. However, dogs with low to moderate illnesses and injuries, are frequently deemed not adoptable by shelters, and these dogs all too often get euthanized. It is our goal to save and rehabilitate these dogs by securing veterinary treatment and foster homes until they are ready for adoption.

Our Mission:
"Save-One-Soul (SOS) is a Louisville, KY based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works towards improving the quality of life and welfare of pets in the Louisville and surrounding areas by providing veterinary care to un-owned or shelter animals that are in the most urgent need."

Upon accepting animals into our program, we provide them with the urgent veterinary care needed to treat their condition before moving them into foster care. While in foster care, the animals get acclimated to a normal home life, and receive follow-up treatments, including routine veterinary care, thus allowing us to facilitate adoption into a loving and permanent home.

Mercy as a puppy, approximately 1 month after she was found
in a dumpster. She had been discarded as trash.
Mercy had demodectic mange, a highly treatable condition.
Fast forward 14 years, and Mercy is enjoying life
as shown in the picture at the top of the page.
